Wonderful occasion celebrating the 4th Anniversary of our Memory Cafe today. Great support from the community including Loughton Town Mayor Cllr Stephen Murray, Nick Robinson (Voluntary Action Epping Forest) and Loughton Club.
Fascinating talk by our member, Kay Morrison, about her life in Fife as a Councillor and Deputy Provost of Fife.
Her career before politics was in Teaching and Education and she is passionate about improving attainment and life chances for all.
She still has passion and energy but now focused in Chigwell, Epping Forest, to make sure that our Local services, like education, after school clubs and local support are well funded and fit for purpose. We are very fortunate to have her supporting our community.

The first crocuses are springing up! These bulbs were donated by us to the Grow Community Garden. The Crocus is a flower which symbolises the story of the Rotary Polio eradication programme. The Crocus was chosen as the purple colour matched the dye painted on the little fingers of children to show that they have been immunised.
We had two heroes Keith & Ron from amazing charity Essex Blood Runners talk to us about their work. They’re a charitable organisation that delivers blood, samples and emergency plasma to hospital departments across Essex. They do this free of charge whenever and wherever it’s urgently needed. They’re on call from 7:00pm to 7:00am 7 nights a week, 24 hours Weekends and Bank Holiday, and all main holidays. They’re all volunteer bikers/car drivers and do not receive any payment for the work we do. Please support them.
